Designed for use in all M3, M4, M5, M6, X5M, X6M vehicles, M-Series limited-slip differentials require special lube that contains friction modifiers to keep the limited slip clutches from chattering and making noise during hard turns at slow speeds. Motorsport Rear Differential Fluid is the fluid formula described by BMW to cure this problem (TSB# 33 01 02) in the following models.​
