Alpine builds their Type-G speakers with outstanding materials and precision construction so they can handle high power levels. For instance, Alpine uses square wire in the voice coils to eliminate the space normally found between round wires in a coil, giving these speakers a particularly smooth and efficient response. The SPG-17C2 6-3/4 Inch speakers feature a sturdy injection-molded polymer frame that houses and supports all its internal parts with minimal vibration or resonance. The polypropylene woofer features pearl mica injection for strength that adds low-frequency punch. A durable rubber surround helps the woofer produce stronger, more accurate bass. The silk dome tweeter radiates smooth, high notes, giving the vocals and strings clear presence without a hint of harshness. The built-in crossover network distributes the signals between the tweeter and woofer so you enjoy natural sound and strong stereo imaging. Alpine includes handsome mesh speaker grilles to add a touch of class to your installation.
